Mineral Inheritors Rights Association (MIRA)

Mineral Inheritors Rights Association (MIRA) is an emerging coalition of 31 civil society groups and networks in India working to ensure democracy, social justice, equity, transparency, and accountability in extractive sector governance. It was formed in the year 2020 as the India chapter of the Global Publish What You Pay movement (that campaigns for an open and accountable extractive industry).

MIRA’s work is based on the narrative that ‘Minerals are a shared inheritance’ and to ensure distributive justice to the entire ecosystem for the present and future generations, MIRA’s members call for a fair mineral resource governance mechanism to be in place.
