Liz Karan

Liz Karan leads The Pew Charitable Trusts’ ocean governance work which aims to address the threat of human activity such as fishing, mining, and shipping on ocean life by securing improved protection and management measures in international agreements. She previously worked on several other international marine initiatives at Pew, including aquaculture reform, global shark conservation, and Southern Ocean protections. Before coming to Pew, Liz worked with the environmental community—including the Center for Clean Air Policy, the Conservation Law Foundation, and the National Environmental Trust—on a diverse portfolio of initiatives focused on climate and energy policy and business development.
