France Puts Future of Deep Sea Mining in Doubt

During the UNFCCC COP27 in Egypt, French President Macron called for an international ban on deep-sea mining in a written statement. French Ambassador Olivier Guyonvarch also formally proposed the ban at the International Seabed Authority Council meeting in Jamaica this past week.
